FAIR Congratulates Speaker Ryan, Urges Enforcement of Immigration Laws
The public is fed up with special interest influences and has made clear that the adverse impacts of mass and unregulated immigration have to stop.
- Dan Stein, President of FAIR
(November 16, 2016 — Washington, D.C.) — The following statement was released by Dan Stein, president of the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) congratulating Rep. Paul Ryan for being unanimously chosen for another term as the Speaker of the House.
“This was a historic election and the decision by the American people to entrust the executive and legislative branches of government into the hands of the Republican Party is an opportunity that must not be wasted.
“The public is fed up with special interest influences and has made clear that the adverse impacts of mass and unregulated immigration have to stop. They want true reform that secures the border, enforces the law, and protects the interests of the American worker.
“We urge Speaker Ryan to set aside his own personal agenda, reject the mass immigration platform of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce, work to regain control of this nation’s borders, and to protect American workers and taxpayers. We urge the Speaker to carry forth the mandate the voters gave his party in this election and to work tirelessly to help the new Trump Administration succeed.”
