Congressman Biggs: There is an Alien Invasion at our Border

Last week, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ-05) hosted an exclusive premiere of his new film Alien Invasion: A Documentary on the Biden Border Crisis at the Heritage Foundation in Washington, DC. In his opening remarks he made clear the genesis for this production. He explained, “The idea [is] that we take a lot of people to the border – I know we should spread the word; people need to see what it’s like. So I came up with a documentary. We want to get this out to as many people as possible.” As the first documentary of its kind made by a lawmaker, it highlights the true toll open borders have on both the American public and migrants.
It begins by showing how Biden dismantled Trump’s border enforcement strategy piece by piece and, with every pen stroke, gave more leverage to the cartels, essentially leaving them in operational control of our southern border.
The first portion, narrated by Sheriff Mark Lamb of Pinal County, Arizona, details the gut-wrenching devastation that befalls those who make the trek to the U.S. He explains how 80% of women who journey to our border are raped along the way. He describes how he often sees morning-after pills littering the landscape because women understand the price they will pay to make the journey. Ominously, he states, “Drugs you can sell one time, the consumer uses the drug and that’s it. If you bring a child in – and traffic them into sex slavery – that child is making the cartel money over, and over, and over again.”
The documentary then turns to the threat the American public faces with the removal of Trump’s border protections. Members of Congress and former administration officials alike sound off on recent sobering statistics. Congressman Biggs asserts, “We’ve seen a 4-fold increase in apprehensions of individuals on the terrorist watch list.” Former CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan adds, “The border patrol apprehends, under this administration, illegal aliens from over 160 countries. Yeah, the security threat on our southern border is real.” Meanwhile, Former Acting ICE Director Tom Homan says, “The DEA is on record saying that 95% of fentanyl [in the US] is coming across the southwest border.” Backed by the fact that fentanyl poisonings have killed more Americans than the Vietnam War, these men are demanding bold action.
First on the agenda is the impeachment of Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas. Such a move has been championed by Congressman Biggs, who introduced formal articles of impeachment in the House in August 2021 with over 30 co-sponsors. He sees Mayorkas’ dereliction of duty, willful ignorance, politicization of the situation, and bald-faced lie that “the border is secure” as unmistakable high crimes and misdemeanors worthy of impeachment.
Biggs has also introduced two pieces of legislation to restore CBP’s rightful operational control of the border. H.R. 1901 the Stopping Border Surges Act, would close loopholes in immigration law incentivizing aliens to enter the U.S. unlawfully. Meanwhile, H.R. 58, the Fund and Complete the Border Wall Act, would establish a separate Treasury account to finish building the wall along the southern border.
This documentary highlighted the devastation that has ensued since Biden took office. Biggs advocates for commonsense policies that would enhance the safety both of those already in our country and those migrating here. The film ends with Congressman Biggs pleading directly to the camera, “It is time to act. We cannot wait.”
