Biden & Co. Have a Big Gift Card For Illegal Border Crossers
What’s in your wallet? For illegal aliens, it will soon be a Secure Docket Card (SDC) to help them move “smoothly, efficiently and humanely through the immigration process.” Priceless.
Serving as an all-purpose pass, the SDC will enable illegally present migrants to board airplanes, access certain state benefit programs, and generally make themselves at home.
An official with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) touted the card’s “cutting-edge security features [for] the mutual benefit of the government and noncitizens.” Note there is no mention of benefits to U.S. citizens. Because there are none.
Naturally, outfits like the American Immigration Lawyers Association are on board. The American Civil Liberties Union has a few reservations, but not about national security or short-circuiting the rule of law. Rather the ACLU worries about government encroaching on illegal aliens’ “privacy.”
While SDCs are designed to be a legal form of identification, news reports blithely assure they cannot be used for voter registration. Don’t be too sure about that. Non-citizens are already voting in local elections in 15 U.S. jurisdictions, and the Biden card opens more avenues for mischief, or at least confusion, at polling places.
It’s not a stretch to see SDCs used to obtain driver’s licenses. With 16 states currently licensing migrants, and more statehouses considering it, the Biden card opens another on-ramp for illegal aliens to drive legally from coast to coast.
And make no mistake: Red states are falling in line. Texas, which talks loudly about border control, has been quietly issuing its own “limited term” licenses to illegal aliens. Incredibly, these documents remain valid until “an applicant’s lawful presence is determined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security.”
Equally disturbing, the SDC undermines the federal E-Verify system, which checks job applicants’ immigration status. The Biden gift card effectively gives the holder carte blanche to compete for jobs with American workers, just as most economists (who don’t work at the White House) warn that we are sliding into a recession.
The Secure Docket Card – which will be rolled out as a pilot program — is yet another open-borders scheme employing technology in all the wrong ways for all the wrong purposes. It’s a pilot that deserves to crash and burn before it wreaks incalculable damage on this country.
