The Success of Migrant Protection Protocols Can’t Be Questioned
Check out what Matt wrote in the Daily Caller:
Since the chaos along our southern border peaked last May, there has been a precipitous decline in the flow of Central American economic migrants posing as asylum seekers entering the country illegally. Construction of additional border fencing and stepped up enforcement by Mexico at its own southern border have certainly played a significant role in alleviating the crisis, but it is another program implemented by the Trump administration that has had the greatest impact.
The Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP), first rolled out in January 2019, require migrants who want to seek asylum in the United States to wait in Mexico pending their immigration court hearing in the U.S.
We Need Border Controls To Fight The Coronavirus
On March 10, the United States confirmed that there are now over 1,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus.
On March 10, the United States confirmed that there are now over 1,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19, commonly known as the coronavirus. Multiple members of Congress announced they were remaining home to self-quarantine. Separately, the administration may force hundreds of thousands of federal employees to work from home. President Trump declared the virus a national emergency and cities across the country closed public places and banned large gatherings of people to stem the spread of the virus.
This is all to say that the United States is starting to take the coronavirus very seriously. This is not a partisan issue – Democrats and Republicans both claim to understand the severity of this global outbreak now present in 120 countries.
Countries That Live By Remittances, Die By Remittances
Check out what Ira wrote in the Daily Caller:
In 2019, people working outside their homelands sent $554 billion of their earnings back to their native countries. Nearly all of this cash flowed from developed nations to less developed ones. The $554 billion in remittances eclipsed the total of all foreign investment in these receiving nations, and three times the amount these nations received in foreign aid.
Then came the COVID-19 pandemic. The global health crisis touched off a global economic crisis, resulting in millions of lost jobs and restrictions on travel that make it difficult for foreign workers to get to a job in another country, even if one is available.
The NO BAN Act Is Politics At Its Worst
Check out what Preston wrote for the Daily Caller.
House Democrats recently voted to strip the president of one of the most important tools at his disposal to protect America from foreign threats: the ability to suspend travel to the United States. The Democrats voted 233-183 to pass the NO BAN Act. Had this bill been law in early 2020, President Trump would have been unable to ban travel from China and Europe, which saved American lives according to the Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
Under current law, the president can react in real time to national security threats by restricting the entry of aliens under the authority laid out in Section 212(f) of the Immigration and Nationality Act.
If Biden Wants To Regain Control OfThe Southern Border, He Must Look Beyond Foreign Aid
Check out what Matthew wrote in the Daily Caller:
President Joe Biden and his administration continue to peddle the public relations snake oil that spending money in the Northern Triangle countries will help regain control of the southern border and reduce illegal immigration. The administration plans to spend $4 billion as part of its strategy to look like they’re trying to control the border, provide more than $300 million in emergency aid and has contemplated granting direct cash payments to migrants.
While Rome Burned, Harris Giggled
Check out what Dave wrote in the Daily Caller:
Of course many in the Biden administration were perplexed by Vice President Kamala Harris’ performance during her recent trip to Guatemala and Mexico. They must have been watching the same NBC News interview the rest of the nation watched, in which a clearly frustrated Lester Holt pressed the vice president on why she was visiting Guatemala without having been to this nation’s southern border, which is ground zero of the border crisis.
The Central American Minors Program Is A Horrible Idea
Check out what Pawel wrote in the Daily Caller:
In March, the Biden-Harris administration restarted the Central American Minors (CAM) program, an Obama-Biden migration scheme that was terminated by the Trump administration. On June 15, in a joint statement by Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Department of Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, the new administration – which is currently facing a border/illegal migration crisis of its own creation – announced that it is expanding CAM.
The Biden Admin Needs To Be Held Accountable For The Texas Terrorist Situation
Check out what Matthew wrote in the Daily Caller:
Malik Faisal Akram, a 44-year-old British national, took four people hostage at a Texas synagogue Jan. 15 before he was killed by a FBI Hostage Rescue Team.
Akram was allowed entry into the United States despite having an extensive criminal record that the Biden administration and its security agencies failed to flag. While no innocent people died during the hostage situation, the Biden administration could have significantly reduced the chances of this from occurring. The administration must be held more accountable for its failure to eliminate national security threats.
Biden Blows Down The Doors At The Southern Border
Read Preston’s latest in the Daily Caller:
The time many have feared has finally arrived. President Joe Biden, in concert with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), announced that Title 42 is coming to an end.
This decision sets the stage for the worsening of the existing border crisis and will lay bare the broken nature of our immigration system for the whole world to see.
The Illegal Immigrant Population In The US Increased By An Astronomical Amount In 2021
Read Spencer’s latest in the Daily Caller:
A new report by the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) estimates that the illegal alien population has increased to approximately 15.5 million as of the end of 2021, up from 14.5 million in 2020. The report also estimates that this population now costs American taxpayers a net of at least $143.1 billion annually – an increase of $9.4 billion from last year.
Since taking office, the Biden administration has made a point of not just rolling back everything that former President Donald Trump did to secure the southern border and deter illegal immigration, but also dismantle nearly all immigration enforcement measures on the books. This undermining of immigration enforcement ranges from protecting nearly all illegal aliens (including most serious criminals) from deportation to reinstating the Obama-era practice of catch-and-release.
