FAIR Mourns the Passing of Edward H. Harte
Member of Board of Advisors
(May 26, 2011 — Washington, D.C.) — The Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) notes with sadness the passing of Edward H. Harte, a long-time member of FAIR’s board of advisors. Ed and his late wife, Janet, helped found the organization and provided guidance and support for many years. Most of all, Ed was a treasured friend who will be greatly missed by all who are associated with FAIR.
“Ed was a dedicated environmentalist and generous philanthropist who worked throughout his life to leave a better world and better country for future generations,” said Dan Stein, president of FAIR. “Early on, Ed and Janet recognized the impact that immigration-fueled population growth would have on the quality of life in the United States and were determined to make a difference. For the past 15 years, as a member of FAIR’s board of advisors, Ed fought for immigration reforms that are compatible with the long-term interests of the nation.”
FAIR extends its deepest condolences to Ed’s son, Chris, and to the entire Harte family.
