Illegal Border Crossings Today:
Immigration Issues
Immigration Issues
Amnesty
Amnesty is the granting of legal status to foreign nationals despite the fact they illegally entered the United States or illegally overstayed their work or travel visa.
Border Security
The United States has approximately 7,500 miles of international land border; about 1,954 miles along Mexico and another 5,525 miles along Canada.
Illegal Immigration
Each year, millions of aliens deliberately violate our nation’s laws by illegally crossing U.S. borders or overstaying their visas. The problem has grown dramatically in recent years, as the number of migrants crossing the southern border has reached historic levels.
Legal Immigration
At FAIR, we believe that a well thought-out and well-enforced immigration policy plays an important role in helping maintain the quality of life in America.
National Security
Maintaining an acceptable level of National Security is dependent on ensuring that strong immigration policies are in force.
Population & Environment
Unrestricted population growth is having a negative effect on the U.S. population and environment.
Sanctuary Policies
Sanctuary policies are those followed by towns, cities, counties, states, and other jurisdictions that restrict most forms of cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
Societal Impact
Illegal immigration is a fiscal burden on taxpayers. Mass immigration jams schools, hospitals and highways. The education of the children of illegal immigrants costs taxpayers millions of dollars annually.
Workforce & Economy
Illegal immigration dramatically increases competition in the labor market, particularly for low-skilled jobs.
