Will House Republicans Follow the Money or Their Consciences on Immigration in 2014?
In an op-ed published on the Townhall.com opinion site, I note that business interests, an important Republican constituency, are committing vast sums of money to the lobbying effort to win amnesty for illegal aliens and even greater access to foreign workers in 2014. House Republicans are squarely in business’s crosshairs as that chamber decides if and how to deal with immigration during this election year. As the op-ed notes, “The primary reason why Boehner and company might move on immigration in 2014 – perhaps the only reason – is money: lots and lots of it.”
