How to Report Illegal Aliens
Under federal law, any non-U.S. citizen is an alien. Aliens who have entered the United States without permission, or who have violated the terms of their admission, are identified under the law as illegal aliens. That is a fact, not an issue for debate.
It doesn't matter whether someone crossed our nation's borders illegally or overstayed a visa, their presence in the country is illegal which makes them deportable under the Immigration and Nationality Act. According to the law..."Any alien who is present in the United States in violation of this Act or any other law of the United States is deportable."
If you have evidence of illegal immigration, contact the Department of Homeland Security at 1 866-DHS-2ICE (1 866-347-2423) but don't be surprised if they don't pick up or don't seem to care.
Four reasons why the "government probably won't care":
- The Obama Administration has never asked for the money. The administration has never asked Congress for adequate DHS funding that would enable them to respond to routine reports.
- The Obama Administration has destroyed state-local enforcement agreements. Since 2008, the Administration has rolled up the agreements that enabled DHS to rely on state and local police to pick up and detain illegal aliens for removal.
- The Obama Administration has eliminated most federal interior immigration law enforcement. This means even if you are reporting someone who you believe may be violating the law, it is unlikely DHS will be willing to respond – and this is a political decision.
- Politicians in high places oppose immigration law enforcement. Depending on your state and city, certain state and local officials – and one major political party in its entirely – no longer believe our immigration laws should be widely enforced.
How can we change this? Only by joining forces and speaking loudly and forcefully that the nation must be protected through a return to vigorous immigration law enforcement and the rule of law.
