Feet to the Fire 2013
What is Hold Their Feet to the Fire?
Hold Their Feet to the Fire is the nation’s largest annual immigration activist-media event which this year will take place April 17 and 18 in Washington D.C. Nearly fifty radio hosts will broadcast live from Capitol Hill to discuss and debate current immigration reform proposals. At the same time, teams of activists from across the country will lobby lawmakers telling them they want secure borders, existing laws enforced, worksite verification to protect American jobs and most importantly - no amnesty.
Hold Their Feet to the Fire successfully defeated the McCain-Kennedy-Bush amnesty bill in 2007, which was hatched in secret and sprung on the American public at the last minute with no time for review, even by lawmakers. The bill died when talk radio roared, and activists fanned out across the Capitol and citizens flooded their lawmaker’s switchboards.
This year is a repeat in many ways. The Senate “Gang of Eight” is busy behind closed doors concocting amnesty plans for millions of illegal aliens present in our nation. And just like 2007, Hold Their Feet to the Fire activists will once again hand deliver the message to our elected representatives in Washington D.C. that amnesty does not represents the best interests of our country.
With 22 million Americans unemployed or underemployed, the net effect of a massive legalization for 12 million illegal aliens only increases competition for scarce jobs. And lawmakers will hear the wisdom that Americans understand well; amnesty simply rewards lawbreaking, encourages more and is fundamentally unfair to those who come here legally. We learned our lessons from the 1986 amnesty and cannot permit it to happen again.
What You Can Do
Join other American activists that are tired of the same old politics of Washington. Together let’s ask our members of Congress the proverbial, “What part of NO don’t you understand?”
Time is of the essence. Congress will introduce their duplicitous solution to illegal immigration in early April. Unite with other like minded individuals and let’s show our elected officials, again, that it is time to enforce this nation’s immigration laws. Let’s put America back to work and start the immigration reform solution with ENFORCEMENT, not AMNESTY.
